The scholarships awarded for the 2018-2019 academic year supported eight students through partnerships with colleges, universities, and the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF).

“As an organization that relies on multidisciplinary STEM professionals to achieve our mission, Riverside Research is proud to fund these scholarships,” said Riverside Research President and CEO Dr. Steve Omick. “These students are not only our future workforce, but are the future of our nation’s security and strategic advantage. We’re committed to supporting our community and nation through scholarships like these.”

In the coming months, Riverside Research will also be promoting STEM education by sponsoring events like WashingtonExec’s K-12 STEM Symposium. The K-12 STEM Symposium aims to link what students learn in the classroom with real-world science and technology capabilities.

By partnering with organizations like USGIF, WashingtonExec, and institutions such as Wright State University, the University of Dayton, and Clark State, the not-for-profit aims to support STEM initiatives that reach scholars of all ages across the nation.

The company’s approach to supporting STEM education reflects how early childhood curiosity in STEM can evolve into lifelong passion for the related disciplines. “Our STEM initiatives cover the spectrum from childhood education to post-graduate studies,” Omick continues. “Nurturing a person’s interest in STEM fields begins early in life and continues through adulthood.”
