Riverside Research to Exhibit at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2013

Jul 02, 2013

Washington, DC – For the 4th year running, Riverside Research will exhibit at AUVSI’s annual Unmanned Systems conference. Hosted by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), this annual forum is the world’s largest unmanned systems exhibition, drawing more than 8,000 attendees from 40 countries and 600+ exhibitors to review, assess, and discuss the current state of the unmanned and robotic systems market.

This year’s event is being held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC August 12-15.

Located at booth 3624, Riverside Research will showcase:

  • STEM: Highlights of our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives to include synopsis of our undergraduate-level and certificate courses in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) applications and standards; electronic textbooks; and our forthcoming textbook, “The Phenomenology of Intelligence-Focused Remote Sensing.”
  • Precision Agriculture: Overview and findings from our independent research and development of UAS for precision agriculture. Our research focused on viability of small UAS to support crop damage assessment. The benefit of our research extended well beyond the problem; providing lessons learned on end-to-end UAS application development. Glen Salo, Manager of our Computational Science and Engineering Lab (CSE Lab) and lead for our precision agriculture research, is scheduled to present “Feeding the World – An Opportunity for Unmanned Aerial Systems” at AUVSI’s Beyond the Booth Showcase.
  • Aircraft Mission Planning: Demonstration of our Aircraft Mission Planner (iAMP) tool and application to the UAS community. Additional demos by our Modeling and Application Development Laboratory (MAD Lab) on satellite mission planning and other modeling and simulation decision support tools are planned.

In addition to these demonstration highlights, our subject matter experts will be on hand to discuss our capabilities in cybersecurity, trusted cloud computing, remote sensing processing and analysis, and sensor and platform integration and operations. Make plans to visit us at AUVSI 2013!
