External Referral Program Eligibility, Policies, Terms, & Conditions

Objective

The Riverside Research External Referral Bonus Program (the “Program”) provides individuals unaffiliated with the organization the opportunity to refer candidates for open job requisitions. The goal of the Program is to attract, hire, and retain top talent from an extended range of professional and interpersonal networks. Referrals are valid for 12 months from the date of submittal.

Eligibility for External Referral Bonus

You must be a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age to participate in the Program. You cannot be a current Riverside Research employee (or an immediate family member) or be employed or affiliated with a staffing/recruiting agency.

Non-eligible Candidates

An external referral bonus will NOT be paid out if the candidate you refer:

  • Is you
  • Has submitted a job application with Riverside Research within the last 12 months
  • Has already been referred by a current Riverside Research employee or by someone else
  • Is a recent or current contractor/consultant or temporary employee
  • Is a family member or a current Riverside Research employee

Referral Bonus Payment Terms

Eligible individuals who refer a candidate for a regular full-time position subsequently hired by Riverside Research for that position will be eligible to receive a one-time external referral payment in the amount of $2,500 (gross), subject to satisfaction of the two conditions set forth below.

If Riverside Research hires the candidate, the following conditions must be satisfied before the referral bonus is payable to the eligible referring person:

  • The newly hired employee identifies the individual who referred them
  • The newly hired employee completes 90 days of continuous employment with Riverside Research and is in good performance standing at the end of the 90 day period

Riverside Research will process the external referral bonus within 30 days after the aforementioned conditions have been satisfied and upon submission by the referring person of all necessary paperwork and related information. Payments will be made by company check on a 1099 basis.

Process to Refer a Candidate

Information must be submitted through this page on our website. Referrals submitted any other way or that do not include all of the required information will not be eligible for this Program.

To be eligible for an external referral bonus, you must provide the following at the time of your initial submission:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address
  • Referred candidate's full name, phone number, and email address
  • Relationship between you and the referred candidate
  • Specific job requisition number to which you are referring
  • Referred candidate's resume

Riverside Research will review all submissions and may contact the referred candidate if he/she fulfills the requirements of the specific job requisition to which they were referred. The referred candidate will be asked to submit an application for the specific job requisition they were referred to. When submitting their application, candidates must acknowledge the individual who referred them. Notwithstanding any provision in this program, Riverside Research has no obligation to hire any referred candidate. Further, any person who refers a candidate under this program shall not be regarded as a “finder” under applicable law.

Tax Liability

External referral bonuses are paid pre-tax from Riverside Research. Riverside Research will report referral bonus payments to the appropriate tax authorities but the referring person is solely responsible for paying appropriate state and federal taxes on any payment received.

Additional Information

In order for the person referring to receive the $2,500 bonus, both the referring person and the candidate must complete the aforementioned requirements.

If more than one external individual refers the same candidate, Riverside Research will determine the first qualifying referral based on the time stamp of the submission. Riverside Research shall make such determination in its sole discretion.

The terms and conditions of this external referral bonus program are governed by the internal laws of New York and are subject to change or terminate at any time and in Riverside Research’s sole discretion.

Persons referring candidates agree that Riverside Research’s maximum liability under this agreement for any qualifying referral shall be $2,500 and that in no event will Riverside Research be liable to such persons referring candidates under this program for claims for indirect, consequential or special damages with respect to any such referrals. By submitting a referral, the individual agrees to the aforementioned terms and conditions of the program.
