Gisele Bennett, PhD
Dr. Gisele Bennett brings extensive experience in basic and applied R&D to Riverside Research’s Board of Trustees. Across multidisciplinary programs, Dr. Bennett’s research experience includes work supporting industry, federal, and Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
Dr. Bennett has been serving in academia for over 29 years. She is the Senior Vice President for Research and professor of electrical and computer engineering at Florida Tech. Prior to joining Florida Tech, she held teaching, research, and administrative roles at Georgia Tech with research areas to include optical imaging systems, EO modeling, and simulation, LIDAR development for sensing, Active-EO Systems development, and IoT sensor system development. While at Georgia Tech she founded a center focused on logistics technologies and grew an applied research laboratory in EO Systems supporting industry and the DoD for the Georgia Tech Research Institute. She is on the Board of Directors for the Optical Society and serves as the President for the IEEE Council on RFID. She is a fellow with OSA and SPIE and a member of the Army Science Board.
Dr. Bennett holds a BSE and MS in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida. She earned her PhD in electrical engineering and Certificate in Management of Technology from Georgia Institute of Technology.
