Riverside Research Provides Orientation to CyberPatriot Program to Fairborn City Schools

Riverside Research Educates Fairborn City Schools about CyberPatriot Program

29 January 2016

DAYTON, OH – Riverside Research, a not-for-profit scientific research company providing expert cyber security solutions to the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, introduced Fairborn City School teachers to the recently launched Elementary School Cyber Education Initiative (ESCEI) on January 15. The initiative is part of the Air Force Association’s (AFA) Cyber Patriot program of which Riverside Research is a proud sponsor leading its launch throughout Ohio.

“ESCEI will equip educators and parents to teach students about cyber security at a young age,” said Bernie Skoch, CyberPatriot National Commissioner. “Students are active online at increasingly younger ages, and AFA sees a need to equip them with the skills critical to their online safety. We are delighted to offer this opportunity at no cost to the schools and other organizations.”

Riverside Research Cyber Security expert, John Moore, introduced the tools and modules that teachers could incorporate in their classrooms. With plans to build partnerships with a collection of Ohio school systems that are interested in adopting ESCEI into their curriculum, Riverside Research is currently launching the program to local Dayton area schools. As the first group in the Dayton area to explore the course, Fairborn City School District teachers were provided general concepts of cyber security and guidelines for delivering the ESCEI curriculum.

“The teachers found the ESCEI program beneficial and agree that students need to be exposed to safe online practices,” said John Moore. To schedule a similar training session with Riverside Research, contact Stephanie LaPlant, Education & Outreach Coordinator (

The ESCEI program is intended for children kindergarten through sixth grade. Any school nation-wide with these grade-levels is eligible to request the program.

The complete ESCEI kit consists of three interactive learning modules. Parents, guardians, teachers, and volunteers can request a free ESCEI program kit by visiting and completing a short request form. All program kits include a digital copy of materials in a zipped folder, but individuals may request a physical copy of the kit as well.
