Modeling and Application Development Laboratory
Riverside Research’s Modeling and Application Development Lab (MAD Lab) provides technical excellence and trusted solutions to challenging problems in mission planning, collection visualization, threat analysis, alternative and tradeoff analysis, and acquisition support. MAD Lab scientists apply sound theoretical, real-life, and physics-based foundations to create innovative and streamlined engineering solutions for our customers’ problem sets. MAD Lab leverages all of Riverside Research’s modeling, simulation, visualization, and database expertise to develop advanced decision-aids for complex problems.
MAD Lab provides full life-cycle engineering services, ranging from research and development to product delivery, maintenance, and support. Our expertise provides significant value to customers involved in acquisition, development, testing, and training of complex systems. Our models and interactive simulations benefit our customers by supporting live, virtual, and constructive environments.
MAD Lab’s modeling and simulation engineering ingenuity is applied to requirements analysis, design, development, verification, validation, accreditation, and education. Specific capabilities include program management, operational analysis, system design, engineering, software prototypes, system test, launch support, flight and mission operations, and integrated logistics support. Specific areas of expertise include:
- Mission planning—supporting experimental and operational airborne and space-based ISR programs
- System acquisition—conducting high-fidelity M&S necessary to help align scarce resources to our customers’ pressing missions and priorities
- Workflow management—translating user processes into automated, custom web-based workflows
- Education and training—creating unique learning environments for K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) programs and other activities
MAD Lab Support Center
The MAD Lab Support Center is a 24-hour web-based help service that allows customers to create and track the resolution of discrepancy reports and enhancement requests. Support staff remains in contact with the customer during the resolution process through information feeds, site updates, and direct correspondence.
MAD Lab employs systematic methodologies and applies industry-standard models that target customer needs and learning goals. We tailor each of our training packages to deliver stand-alone, instructor-led, computer-aided, self-paced interactive courseware and computer-based training products. Each product is unique to the customer’s program and environment.
MAD Lab brings together software developers and community experts in sensor physics, platform operations and collection planning, integrating commercial technology in standard operating environments. Our employees work together as a virtual team to provide solutions to our customers' needs while providing an environment that supports innovative solutions and creativity. Our team collaborates not only with internal Subject Matter Experts and external customers, but also with universities, research agencies and other companies to ensure we meet our customers' expectations with the best, innovative, and affordable solutions. Team members also possess the necessary security clearances to ensure they understand the mission, know the terminology and can support on-site activities.
