Centers of Excellence

Riverside Research boasts six Centers of Excellence (COEs) which are focused on expanding knowledge—either theoretical or applied—within a long-standing area of research to serve a national purpose.

Each COE is structured within Riverside Research as a multidisciplinary team that leverages academic investigation to advance solutions aligned with the interests of its customers.

Riverside Research provides highly skilled engineering, management, logistics, acquisition, and administrative support to ensure maximum operational responsiveness and flexibility for missions requiring rapid upgrades to existing weapons systems. Operational missions range from intelligence collection and electronic countermeasures to unconventional warfare.

Riverside Research provides expertise in advanced acoustical and optical technology for a wide range of biomedical applications. The diagnostic studies currently undertaken by the Lizzi Center apply ultrasonic and optoacoustic methods to imaging and detection and diagnosis of cancerous lesions, guidance of diagnostic biopsies, and targeting and monitoring of treatment.

Riverside Research provides highly skilled scientific, engineering, management, and products-and-acquisition support to customers involved in the research, development, assessment, accreditation, education, training, and deployment of cyberspace security theory, methodologies, tools, and products. Expertise includes researching, obtaining, assessing, evaluating, and critiquing complex systems and fundamental protection methodologies.

Riverside Research provides technical experts in all areas needed to support investigations of basic electromagnetic interactions and their mitigation for signature control, including physics, engineering, computer science, and mathematics.

From simple high-power, vacuum tube-driven, parabolic dish radars to active, solid-state phased arrays, Riverside Research provides subject-matter expertise spanning all radar-related disciplines. Our involvement typically starts with feasibility studies, generation of performance specifications, and concept definition, which lead to successful program acquisition. Our involvement continues all the way through system development, testing, installation in the field, sustainment, and eventual service-life extension and modernization efforts.

Riverside Research provides a range of services to enable the development, fielding, operation, and sustainment of specialized technical intelligence and related systems. We are a leading technical advisor and capability enhancer in the development of measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) and advanced geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) systems and their associated tasking, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TPED) infrastructure.
