Director of Operations, Research & Development
Eric Patterson is the Director of Operations for Research & Development. In this role, he is responsible for successfully building and managing customer-centric and technology-enabled innovation. This includes shaping, informing, and influencing the research and development focus with effective strategy, governance, functional integration, people, culture, processes, metrics, infrastructure, and technology enablers. Eric is also responsible for personnel management, program and process control, program information management, workforce development, indirect funding oversight, and infrastructure management for the Research & Engineering group.
Eric has over 27 years of experience in GEOINT and MASINT, including seven years of training and education experience. His responsibilities have ranged from installing and maintaining collection platforms, to planning and executing worldwide collection strategies in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Eric has extensive technical expertise in the geophysical, nuclear, material, and electro-optical disciplines. He is also an expert in developing community tools and web portals.
A native of Virginia and retired 21-year Air Force veteran, Eric has a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. Eric also has degrees in Instructor of Technology and Military Science and Electronics Systems Technology.
